Advertising Placements

The Rio Times currently has approximately 125,000 page views/month available in which to display Online Advertising Banners. This level of monthly readership has grown on average by 10 percent a month, and we expect it to continue to increase with Brazil and Rio’s prominence on the world stage.

We sell our Online Advertising Banners in increments of 5,000 views/month. That means that currently there is an inventory of 25 units available per placement.

Ad units will rotate randomly throughout the site, with the probability on each page related to the number of views (impressions) purchased.

For example, if 5,000 views were purchased, the Ad will be seen on 1/25 of the pages (4 percent). If you purchase 20,000 views, the Ad is seen on almost 1/5 of the pages (20 percent).

The placements are: Masthead (728×90 pixels), Top Box (300×250 pixels), Lower Box (300×250 pixels) and the Footer Banner (468×60 pixels).

We are able to offer free design services for static Ad Banners, but can also serve Flash animated Banners as provided.

All static graphics are 72 dpi resolution, and must be under 30K file size. Animated Flash banners must be provided as .swf files, under 40K and loop a maximum of three times before stopping at a resolve.

Ad Banners can start at any time during the month, and we can either pro-rate the initial month, or create a mid-month billing schedule.

At the end of each calendar month, our AdServing system provides Ad Banner Reports to confirm and detail page views per day, as well as clicks and click rate percentages.

All placements come with a reduced rate for volume (5,000, 10,000, 15,000 or 20,000 views/month), as well as duration (three months = 10 percent, six months = 20 percent and one year = 30 percent).
