The author, Orde Morton (www.ordemorton.com), holds an Oxford doctorate in Brazilian history and has known Rio as a Canadian diplomat, a history lecturer at Universidade Federal Fluminense, and a staff member of Brascan.
His first book describes Rio’s rich culture, its high society, its resilient people and its buoyant way of life, alongside Rio's darker side of inequality and endemic violence.
