After the success of last year’s fifth edition, ArtRio is now considered one of the most important exhibitions on the global art scene. In this sixth edition, it will simultaneously showcase the works of well-known art masters and upcoming new artists from several worldwide art galleries.

“One of the most important focuses of ArtRio is to strengthen Brazil in the global art market”, explains Luiz Calainho, partner of ArtRio in a press release. “Since its first edition, ArtRio enables this mix of names already established in the history of modern and contemporary art with the enhancement and display of new names coming renew the market.”

The event is divided into two thematic programs. The Panorama program displays a collection of renowned national and international art whereas the Vista program focuses on emerging contemporary art with fresh, new galleries. This year, there are nineteen new galleries participating at the event, with eleven from Brazil and the rest from Argentina, Germany and the United states.

“We must bear in mind also that the time is very favorable to Brazilian art, which in recent years had a strong exposure in the international market”, says Brenda Valansi, partner of ArtRio in a press release. “In addition, we continue with our goal to present new artists and galleries, enabling new discoveries and bringing freshness to the market.”
