The BASE party was created almost seven years ago by Pedro Mezzonato, Yuso Barros, Bernardo Campos and Felipe Fella and Saturday will mark the twenty-fifth edition of the party. Pier Mauá, located in Rio’s Port Zone, will be a new venue for the party, which has taken place in various locations around the city.

“BASE doesn’t have a single home,” explained co-founder Pedro Mezzonato. “It was born in the Fosfobox club , then we went to the Espaço Acústica, Mansão do Joá, Vidigal, then we held the unforgettable trilogy of parties in Estação Leopoldina and now we go to the wonderful Pier Mauá.”

“Some may find it strange to leave a place where the party worked so well,” Mezzonato continued,” but we have goose bumps and that is good. The challenge is what drives us. For this edition of BASE there are two main attractions, the DJ and producer English Vanilla Ace, very popular abroad, and one of the best DJs in Brazil, Dubstrong from São Paulo.”

The London-based DJ, Vanilla Ace first burst onto the scene with his 2012 releases on Toolroom, MODA, Blockhead, Maquina and Ministry of Sound. He has toured the world since and is no stranger to Brazil. “I love playing in Brazil, the parties are always good fun and the people know how to party all night long,” Ace said in a prepared statement, adding about the BASE party, “I’m looking forward to this event very much, I get a big buzz playing for big crowds so hope they are ready for me!”

During the party, Vanilla Ace will spin on the Electronic Stage. He will be joined there by DJs Tenth Colum, Allan Villar, Drunky Daniels and the BASE Crew with Bernando Campos, Felipe Fella and Pedro Mezzonato.

When speaking of his music, Vanilla Ace said; “I make a few different styles of music so I like to think I fit into a few different sub-genres such as bass ghetto house, tech house, deep house and nu disco. I don’t like making the same thing over and over so my tracks will always be different.”

Spinning on the Hip Hop stage during the event on Saturday will be Feijão, Rafa M, Saraiva, RV and special guest, São Paulo native Dubstrong.
