RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Saturday, December 9th, the guest house Casa Dois Irmãos, in Santa Teresa, closes its 2017 agenda with a gold themed Christmas party. Starting from 7PM, the free celebration will gather live music, culinary and one of the most stunning views of Rio de Janeiro.

Open since last year, Casa Dois Irmãos celebrates Christmas this Saturday, December 9th, with electro jazz and Brazilian food by Tom Le Mesurier, photo internet recreation.

“It is our 5th party here, and the gathering gets more and more interesting as we seem to attract an eclectic crowd”, says Josephine Jennings-Bramly, Canadian expatriate who run Casa Dois Irmãos with her brother, Kristofer.

In charge of the musical line-up will be duo MangaRosa ElektroJazz. Composed of musicians Gláucio Matins (sax, flute, clarinet) and Sil (vocalist), the couple blends traditional jazz music with the groove of contemporary electronic beats.

Unusual versions for classics by Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington and Herbie Hanckock promise to amaze the audience.

“Besides attracting an interesting crowd, offering fair prices, quality products and an amazing view, Casa Dois Irmãos will host band MangaRosa, which is just awesome”, guarantees Josephine Jennings-Bramly.

Another great reason to drop by Casa Dois Irmãos‘ Christmas party is the food menu, specially prepared by English expat Tom Le Mesurier, creator of EatRio Food Tours.

Among the dishes being offered are the guava smoked brisket with chimichurri, cucumber pickles, macaroni cheese and deviled eggs. There will also be the vegetarian option of guava smoked eggplant with queijo coalho (typical cheese from Brazil’s Northeast).

What’s more, the bar will be offering a selected menu of cocktails, created by mixologist Thiago Jamaica. The highlights for cachaça lovers are the “Magnítônica” (hibiscus sirop, rosemary and tonic) and “Modo Antigo” (sirop and Angostura bitters), caipirinhas carefully prepared with the great label Magnífica. Beer and “sangria” can also be found at the bar.

“We want to support Brazilian products, that’s why we are doing some traditional cocktails with a Brazilian twist. Cachaça is a versatile national product that deserves respect”, explains the Canadian expat from the Vancouver Island.
