Pianist Fábio Martino to Play at Rio’s Eva Klabin Museum

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Thursday, June 14th, internationally renowned pianist Fábio Martino will be playing a selection of piano concertos from Chopin, Mozart and Schumann at the Eva Klabin Museum in Lagoa.

Considered to be one of the great pianists of his generation, Fábio Martino is returning to the Eva Klabin House Museum to give a recital at the place where he first found fame. He is participating in the Eva’s Concerts series that is celebrating twenty years of classical concerts at the Eva Klabin House Museum.

While having been based in Germany for some years, Fábio Martino has returned to Brazil to perform, and has even invited local musicians to accompany him in his recitals of Mozart and Schumann as a symbol of fellowship for his country of origin.

Dubbed a ‘magician at the piano’ by Hannover Allgemeine Zeitung, Fabio Martino started playing the piano at the age of five on his grandmother’s instrument. Seventeen dedicated years later, he came first place in the largest international piano competition in Latin America, the BNDES.

He now holds more than twenty prizes in piano contests and in 2017 he won the second place in the German pianists prize and third place in the international piano and orchestra concert competition of Shenzhen, China.

His album ‘Passion’ features pieces by Beethoven, Liszt and Schumann, and has been hailed by German critics, with Guido Krawinkel of the Klassikheute Magazine giving it a perfect ten. Fábio Martino is one of the most sought-after international pianists of his generation, often performing with famous orchestras in the world’s major concert halls.
