RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The semi-finals of Batalha do Real will take place at Arena Dicró, in the Penha neighborhood on Sunday, October 30th and will put sixteen of the most talented MCs in Rio face to face as they fight it out for the title of best Carioca Rapper.
With more than one thousand spectators expected to cheer them on, sixteen MCs between the ages of seventeen and 23 will do everything in their power to shake the arena. Of the sixteen MCs, four are women.
Participating in this edition are Big Black (Jacarepaguá), Eminente (Caxias), Estudante (Padre Miguel), Gaspar (llha do Governador), Iguin (Caxias), Isaac ZO (Madureira), Jhon (Olinda), Jhonny (São Gonçalo), Mell Brito (São Gonçalo), Natalhão (Ramos), Pelé (São Gonçalo), Rayzen (Caxias), Ruiva (Pavuna), Samantha Zen (Niterói), Xamã (Campo Grande) e Xan (Grajaú). MC Xan has already classified for the final competition at the end of November.
In addition to the contestants, Sunday’s event will also count on shows from shows from rappers Akira Presidente, Sain and Airá OCrespo, and performances from MCs Old Dirty Bacon and Chapadão.
In its thirteenth year, Batalha do Real is already one of the main music events on the Municipal Department of Culture’s annual calendar. The performances incorporates elements of hip hop and street art, as well as using decorations made with recycled and sustainable material signed by artists Felipe Bardy and Fabio Ema.
The first and second battles took place in Méier and Jacarepaguá. The third battle took place at the beginning of October in Madureira Park and the grand finale will be at Circo Voador, Lapa, on November, 23rd.
