Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – After two very succesful editions, it’s time again for the best of bass and house at the CAVE club in Arpoador. The venue will present the third edition of the increasingly popular Jack N Bass party tonight.
DJ Dropheadd , Eclectic, with DJ Nicolau Marinho and DJ Douglas Castro, Touchtalk, and Toucan, with Olliver Mach and Bernardo Campos will spin throughout the night.

As Carnival 2015, approaches the free street parties known as blocos are already underway. Today the bloco, A Pedra é do Sal e o Pão é de Açúcar will parade from 6PM to 10PM. Their starting point will be at Largo de São Francisco da Prainha in Saúde. The bloco Discipulos De Oswaldo will parade from 7PM to 11PM. Their meet-up point will be R. Rosa Da Fonseca in Manguinhos. Additionally, Bar Chopp Time in Botafogo at R. Voluntários da Pátria, 89 will also host a Bloco Do Barbas practice session beginning at 8PM. Entry for that event is free. It is important to note that meet-up points and locations of the bloco parades are subject to change.

It’s time for the best of pop and house as Fosfobox in Copacabana hosts the second edition of the Barbado (bearded) party tonight. An event quickly gaining popularity in Rio’s gay circuit, the party tonight will feature DJs Rodolfo Gomez, Felipe Lira, and Júlio Doutor spinning in the subsolo (basement) and DJs Thi Araujo, Marcelo Habrich, Fernanda Fox, and Dih Cavalcante spinning above at the fosfobar.
