Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Its time again for the Back 2 Black Festival, the biggest event of its kind in Latin America, featuring some of the top acts and performers of samba, hip hop, jazz, funk, r&b, maracatú and carimbó. This event has brought some of the top names not only to peform but also address major issues in the music business as well as debates and educational forums.

This Friday kicks off the first day of the event at Estação Lepoldina and will feature an array of artists such as Nneka, Siba, Jupiter Okwess and Lauryn Hill. Ticket prices vary depending on the package you wish to purchase, so decide quickly as they are selling out fast!

Lobão (Lapa)
Circo Voador welcome back Lobão as he plays his unique rock style, celebrating his 36 years of career. Tonights show will feature hits from his new CD “Lino, Sexy & Brutal”.

Back 2 Black Festival returns to Rio de Janeiro with a 3 day event featuring the best in samba, hip hop, jazz, funk, r&b, maracatú, carimbó and more. Tonights attractions will feature Novíssimos, Jupiter & Okwess International and Lauryn Hill.

Keep Up returns to Fosfobox with special guests Dashdot from Sao Paulo, who will be making their exclusive performance in Rio before embarking on their European tour. Expect support from Lau & Torha, Toucan, Felipe Fella and Joca Vidal.

Nuth (Barra da Tijuca)
The biggest thing to hit the streets of Barra & Lagoa. Two locations with the same game plan to make sure the night never ends for those who attend. A mixture of house, hip hop, and pop, this nightclub is sure to light up the night.

Singer and songwriter Moyseis Marques returns to Carioca da Gema to perform his special brand of samba with hits like “Pretinha Jóia Rara”, which was featured on the soap opera “Caminho das Índias”, from Rede Globo.

Arruda (Lapa)
The Arruda Cultural Preservation Movement Samba de Raiz was born in 2005, after five childhood friends, residents of Vila Isabel samba circles decided to make a move to the city of Rio de Janeiro.
