InternationsFriday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s Halloween and that means there will be parties throughout the city of Rio de Janeiro. One very special event is the InterNations Rio de Janeiro’s HALLOWEEN ROCK n HORROR party at Casarão Ameno Reseda in Catate.

Beginning at 7PM, the event will feature two bands, Head Blues and The Windows, performing live and a DJ taking to the decks to spin the best Halloween tunes.

Representatives from Rio 2016 and the Pioneer Olympic volunteers will also be on hand during the event to provide information and to help to those interested in volunteering for the 2016 Rio Olympics and Paralympics Games.

What makes the event extra special is the prize that Etours Brazil will provide for Best Costume during the event. The winner will receive a package for two people to the box seats of Maracana Stadium during the Flamengo Game. The box seats provide an open bar with food and drinks, security/hostess services and music. The prize package also includes: transfer to and from the stadium by executive car, private driver and welcome drinks.

Entry to the HALLOWEEN ROCK n HORROR party is R$10-R$50 and features a free drink between 7PM and 10PM. RSVP here, as soon as possible. The Guest List closes at 2PM on Friday.

Gringo Cafe, Gringo Halloween (Ipanema)
The premiere edition of Gringo Halloween continues at Gringo Café and tonight for Halloween, the American bar and diner will show “Addams Family” at 7PM and then host a Hallween party with a live DJ beginning at 9PM. The Gringo Cafe is well known for bringing all things great about America to Ipanema, including beers, food, atmosphere and traditional holiday celebrations.

Halloween Mab’s Fantasy (Copacabana)
Tonight Mab’s, the American-owned beachfront restaurant and bar on Copacabana Beach, hosts the Halloween Mab’s Fantasy costume party. The event will feature a rodízio of drinks similiar to the Mab’s Secrets night. Additionally, Flávio Jacaré and Alexandre Cabide will provide music to keep the party going. Those who arrive in costume will pay only R$40 for entry.

Halloween Party at Lapa Irish Pub (Lapa)
Somewhere between heaven and hell tonight in Lapa, Black Sabbath tribute band, Bat Salad, will play live during the Halloween Party at Lapa Irish Pub. Entry to the black mass/ghastly event is only R$20 if you arrive in costume and best costume, annoucned at midnight, will win R$200 in credit.

InterNations Rio de Janeiro – OFFICIAL ROCK n HORROR HALLOWEEN! (Catete)
Tonight InterNations Rio de Janeiro will host a very special HALLOWEEN ROCK n HORROR Event at Casarão Ameno Reseda in Catate. Tonight The Clover Irish Pub in Copacabana hosts a Halloween party complete with live bands, a costume contest and drink promotions. Entry is free for those who arrive in costume.

Zombieland! (Lapa)
The undead return as Lapa’s Teatro Odisséia presents Zombieland! tonight. The party will feature free zombie make-up, “apocalyptic” scenery, zombie drinking games, vodka jelly shots complete with brains, shots of tequila, zombie finger cookies, treats from beyond the grave and prizes for best costumes. Additionally, there will be live performances and video projections of the “The Walking Dead” and classic horror films all night. DJs Beto Artista, Rodrigo Senna and Bruno Ambrozi will spin on the first stage, while DJs Lucas Rizotto, Djogo and Beto Costa will take to the decks on the secnd stage.

Bootleg Halloween with Renato Ratier (Copacabana)
Tonight the Bootleg party returns to Copacabana’s Fosfobox with a special Halloween edition featuring very special guest DJ Renato Ratier. Joining Ratier in Fosfobox’s subsolo (basement), DJs Ricardo Estrella, Pedro Piu, and Bed & Breakfast will spin the best of house, funk house, and disco house. Additionally, DJs Diego Canellas and João Benaion will spin at the Fosfobar.

Halloween (Lagoa)
Tonight Lagoa’s posh venue Miroir joins in the Halloween celebrations and will do it up in a way only Miroir can. Expect lots of house and EDM in an atmosphere similar to an upcale masquerade ball.

Halloween José Cuervo (Lagoa)
Women are VIP tonight as Lagoa’s Praia Club hosts the Halloween José Cuervo party. There will be welcome shots of José Cuervo and giveaways of José Cuervo branded-gifts throughout the night. DJs Tubarão, Be Lima, Jokerz and Raphael de Luca will spin.

All Inclusive Halloween Edition (Glória)
La Passion Club in Glória will host a special Halloween edition of the All Inclusive party tonight with an open bar and music provided by DJs Roger Lyra, Duda Santtos and Rodrigo Mattos. The open bar will remain open until 2AM and will feature National Vodka, beer, Lagoa Azul and soda. Additionally, Japanese cuisine will also be provided by Temakeria.

FERVO – Holloween at Barzin (Ipanema)
For Halloween, the Ipanema bar and restaurant Barzin will host a live perfomance by the band Groovebox. DJ Vx and guest DJs Bruno and De Vicq will also spin the best of hous, pop and hits during the night.

Playing For Change and Ponto de Equilibrio (Lapa)
The Playing for Change project arrives at Fundição Progresso in Lapa tonight and will launch the third CD/DVD entitled, Playing For Change 3 – Songs Around The World. The songs were written by more than 180 street musicians from 31 countries and the performance will feature musicians from around the world. Music producer Mark Johnson created the Playing For Change projectin 2002. Tonight, the band Ponto de Equilibrio will also perform and both groups will celebrate the works of Bob Marley.

Celebrating fourteen years of the venue, Gávea’s 00 will host the Ronca Ronca party tonight. DJ Mauricio Valladares will spin.

Tonight at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema, Juliana Zanardi will start things off at 8PM and Julieta Brandão will follow at 9:30PM. Then at 11:30PM, singer-songwriter Luiza Dionizio returns to perform her unique and lively brand of samba.

At 8PM, Darcy Maravilha da Portela will get things started by performing the best of samba at Rio Scenarium. Then at 11PM the singer Jorginho do Império will perform his hits ” Imperador,” “Água no Feijão,” “Na Beira do Mar,” “Folha Desabada,” “Tá delicia,” and other samba favorites. Finally beginning at 2:30 AM, the Trio Aba de Couro will play to close out the night.

Baile do Black with Sandro Black and Guests (Lapa)
Tonight in Lapa the Leviano bar will host Baile do Black with singer/DJ/presenter Sandro Black and guests. Singer Marcelle Motta will start off the night and Sandro Black will perform his reinterpretations of the works of Tim Maia, Seu Jorge, Djavan, and Jorge Benjor, among others. Additionally, DJ Aílton Areas will spin the best of funk, hip-hop and electronic.

With two locations in Copacabana, Mud Bug provides a great selection of beers and food. There isn’t much missing from this American-style staple where, at times, you can hear live jazz, blues, MPB and rock.
