Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Thanks to the help of fans and Rio de Janeiro-based crowdfunding project Queremos, Swedish singer-songwriter José González and English singer-songwriter musician Lucy Rose will perform live in Circo Voador tonight.
González, also a member of the Swedish indie rock band Junip, is well known for his solo classical guitar playing; soft vocals; and intimate acoustic covers of works by Massive Attack, The Knife, Kylie Minogue, and Bruce Springsteen, among others.
To date, González has released numerous EPs, singles, and three solo studio albums: 2003’s Veneer, 2007’s In Our Nature , and 2015’s Vestiges and Claws.
Lucy Rose, a former vocalist for the group Bombay Bicycle Club, has released two studio albums; her 2012 debut, Like I Used To its her 2015 follow-up album Work It Out.
