Monday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s time again for the best of improvisational comedy as Monday Night Live returns to Beco Das Garrafas, “Botttles Bar” in Copacabana with the improv group, Impro Brasil.
Performing for the comedy troupe tonight will be Victor Soares, José Henrique Couto and a special guest from Rio´s Improv Comunity.
Impro Brasil was created in 2013 by Victor Soares following an invitation from Second City`s Amy Roeder to perform at the Chicago Improv Festival. Since their formation, members of the team have performed at various comedy festivals around the world.

It’s time for poetry and live music as Cine Joia in Copacabana presents Poesia é Joia (Joia Poetry) with a live performance by Pedro Verissimo. The event is open mic for poets and spoken word performers. Entry is free.

The Rio Moonday Boat Party is back tonight with neon paint and DJs to help you glow while dancing in the moonlight this Monday. Boarding will begin at 11PM at the Marina da Glória There will be welcome shots for guys until 11:30PM and an open bar of vodka, beer and soft drinks for girls until 12AM, when the boat departs. The boat will make its way around Guanabara Bay for four hours with DJs Rodriguinho and Angola spinning best of trap, world music, funk, house and reggaeton.

Roda de Samba with Rixxa (Lapa)
For a great night of dancing and singing, head to Lapa’s Carioca da Gema. The venue will come alive at 7:30PM as singer and guitarist Pedro Holanda performs live. Then at 9:30PM it’s time for three hours of samba provided by vocalist Rixxa accompanied by brilliant percussionists and members of the Zeca Pagodinho band.

Lunes Sessions @ Leviano (Lapa)
On Monday nights in August, the Leviano bar in Lapa is presenting Lunes Sessions with band Clandestinos, led by singer-songwriter Udi Fagundes, performing their covers of works by Manu Chao, Chico Science, Jorge Benjor, and Bob Marley as well as original arrangements of the best of reggae, dub, ska, and hip-hop.
