Stranger PartySaturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Cordão da Bola Preta will host the party Stranger Party tonight. The party is themed fancy dress (think along the lines of ‘strange’ and Halloween) and free shots will be given to those in fancy dress.

DJs from the GoParty and from the E Eu Que Era Emo? will be spinning the best of rock, indie, pop and hip hop throughout the night. Promotions will include waffles distributed at random and shots of Flamejantes distributed on the dance floor.

Oktobeerfest (Niteroi)
In the second day of the event, the Oktobeerfest will bring the best of imported and national beers, with special beers and chopps available to try. There will also be food trucks with a variety of different foods on offer.

Baile Black (Meier)
The Imperator will host the event, Baile Black, a celebration of black culture. The band Consciencia Tranquila will play the best of black music. In addition, DJ Flash will spin the best of flashback, charme and hip hop. There will also be the Feira Cultural Negra with various pieces of fashion and hand-crafts.

Arte de Portas Abertas (Santa Teresa)
Over the course of the weekend, the doors of Santa Teresa will open its door for another year of Arte de Portas Abertas. Here, locals will present their various forms of art for public viewing and buying in their homes and personal studios. Running alongside the event is Arte Sobre a Mesa with 11 local restaurants cooking up dishes in honor of their chosen artists.

Feira Rio Antigo (Centro)
This weekend, Feira Rio Antigo will celebrate its 20th aniversary with music performances in addition to the usual fair.

Batuque da BOA (Rio de Janeiro)
The city will receive Batuque da Boa, a virada cultural event that will see performances of samba throughout the entire city. There will also be food trucks and art shows. The various live samba bands will play in various points throughout the city. To find out where, check out their Facebook page.

Giovanna Cursino @ Ipanema Beach Hostel (Ipanema)
The Ipanema Beach Hostel will host a party tonight that welcomes foreigners and locals to come together to drink, party and be merry. There will be a live performance from Giovanna Cursino as well as house, funk, hip hop and reggaeton later. Promotions will include double shots of caipirinhas from 7PM until 9PM.

From 3PM today, Gilda no Cantagalo in Copacabana will host the party, Sample with DJs spinning the best of electronic music all day and into the night. Promotions will include a free welcome drink for the first 10 arrivals and double shots on caipirinhas until 5PM.

Tonight, Miroir will host a night of sertanejo with Flavio and Ney in addition to other DJs and music. DJs Residente and Daniel Tremmel will spin the best of hip hop, R&B, funk and house. Promotions will include free caipirinhas for women until midnight and all night promotions of Heineken and vodka combos.

Singer Marcos Novatto will start the night at Rio Scenarium at 8PM by performing the best of samba with renditions of Noel Rosa, Chico Buarque, Jorge Ben Jor, Seu Jorge, Bebeto, and Luiz Gonzaga, among others. At 9PM, Marcus do Cavaco will perform more samba hits. Then at 11PM Samba na Véia will perform the best of sambas enredos. Finally at 3:30AM, Forró Maria Filo will return to peform the best of forró.

Bar 48 (Ipanema)
Located in the heart of the Ipanema neighborhood, Bar 48 (Quarenta e Oito) is one of the hottest new bars in the city. Blue Agave Ipanema (Ipanema)
Blue Agave Ipanema is always a great place for Mexican food, drinks and for watching live sport streams and broadcasts. Just around the corner from Posto 9, the bar is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and the mostly English-speaking crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
