Sunday’s Rio de Janeiro Nightlife Pick – Still going strong after its return earlier this year, the popular Arpex Party returns to Barzin Bar and Restaurant in Ipanema, tonight.

For entertainment throughout the night, DJ Daniel Faria will spin the very best of international house, hip hop, funk and reggaeton.

Additionally, saxophonist Marcelo Cebukin will perform live. Promotions will include free caipivodkas until 12AM. The party is a great way to end the weekend.

Batalha de Fanfarras with Cinebloco and Damas de Ferro (Santa Teresa)
Today in Largo das Neves, Santa Teresa it’s time for a Batalha de Fanfarras (Fanfare Battle) as Cinebloco faces off against Damas de Ferro. Get ready for blaring hrons and the best of jazz, rock and fuzz as these two groups meet.

Today and tonight, the weekly Jazz no Morro event returns to Gilda in Cantagalo. The Allbrazz Quarteto will perform live and DJ João Santiago will spin the best of Brazilian rhythms, dance and rock during show intervals.

El Miraculoso Samba Jazz (Urca)
Weather permitting, the group El Miraculoso Samba Jazz will return to perform live at Urca’s Praia Vermelha today. Consisiting of Henrique Vaz on trumpet; Marcos Luz on bass; Gabriel Barbosa on drums; and Jefferson Moreira on guitar, the quartet are known for great live performances. It’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club. DJ Paula Pedroza will start the party around 5PM by spinning on the deck and DJs Marie Bouret, Rafael Calvente, and Dih Cavalcanti will follow, spinning inside throughout the night until 5AM Monday morning.

Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 6PM the venue plays live games on their screens with a live performance following the matches. Tonight the group Samba Di Buteco will play classic samba including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato will spin during show intervals.
