Tonight the weekly Jazz no Morro event returns to Gilda in Cantagalo with the Giovana Adoracion Trio performing live. During show intervals, DJs will spin the best of Brazilian music and pop.

El Miraculoso Samba Jazz (Urca)
Weather permitting, the group El Miraculoso Samba Jazz will return to perform live at Urca’s Praia Vermelha today. Consisting of Henrique Vaz on trumpet; Marcos Luz on bass; Gabriel Barbosa on drums; and Jefferson Moreira on guitar, the quartet are known for great live performances. Mercado Mundo Mix (Lapa)
Today from 12PM to 10PM, the Mercado Mundo Mix event will continue at Fundição Progresso with art exhibitions, independent publications, food trucks, workshops, fashion vendors, and live music. Providing entertainment will be the Quinteto de Metais da Orquestra Petrobras Sinfônica, beginning at 2:30PM and 4PM. Musician, composer, and visual artist Lucas Estrela will follow at 5:30 PM and the group Noites do Norte will headline the night with their performance of the rhythms of northern Brazil including lambada, cumbia, and brega.

Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Samba Di Buteco playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others.
