childrenofbodomSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Heads will be banging as Finnish progressive metal band Children of Bodom perform live at Circo Voador tonight.

Currently consisting of vocalist and guitarist Alexi Laiho, drummer Jaska Raatikainen, bassist Henkka Blacksmith, guitarist Daniel Freyberg and keyboardist Janne Wirman, Children of Bodom was formed in Espoo, Finland by Laiho and Raatikainen in 1993 under the name Inearthed.

Following a name change referencing the 1960 Lake Bodom murder incident, which involved the murder of three teenagers who had been camping on the shores of the lake located near Espoo, Children of Bodom released their debut album Something Wild in 1997 and during the almost twenty years that followed, they released eight additional albums.
