DuoSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight it’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the Duo party returns to the chic indoor/outdoor Gávea venue 00 (Zero Zero).

The weekly twelve-hour party will begin around 5PM tonight with DJ Gustvao Tatá spinning outside on the deck.

DJs Miss Klauss, Dri Toscano, and Pako will follow, spinning inside throughout the night until 5AM Monday morning.

Praça (Lapa)
Tonight the Praça (The Square) event returns to Circo Voador in Lapa. The event’s goal is to establish a monthly cultural space for creating and performing projects including parties, debates, screenings, alternative publication release, poetry, theater and more. Events, performances and performers tonight will include forró de Rabeca, Os Siderais, Quarteto Rua Jazz, Granmostarda and DJ Michel Lima.

El Miraculoso Samba Jazz (Urca)
Weather permitting, the group El Miraculoso Samba Jazz will return to perform live at Urca’s Praia Vermelha today. Consisiting of Henrique Vaz on trumpet; Marcos Luz on bass; Gabriel Barbosa on drums; and Jefferson Moreira on guitar, the quartet is known for great live performances. Check their Facebook page (link below) for postponement notices due to rain before attending.

Jazz no Morro (Cantagalo)
Today and tonight, the weekly Jazz no Morro event returns to Gilda in Cantagalo. The Victor Bertami Jazz Band will perform live and DJ João Santiago will spin during the party.

It’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club. Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Ballet 2 playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato will spin during show intervals.
