Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – At Fosfobox in Copacabana it’s time again for the Battles! party. Tonight it’s a special edition with Putzbrilha DJ sets.
As always there will be games; “Battle Beer” and “Battle Shots” (similar to the game Battleship, but with beer).
In the venue’s subsolo (basment) there will be Team Battles!, where six DJs with iPods battle it out to pick the sets, while above at the Fosfobar, DJs Tomás Tróia and Larissa Busch will present special Putzbrilha (a popular Rio party) DJ sets.

Beer Battles will rage on throughout the night as DJs Tomás Tróia and Larissa Busch spin special Putzbrilha DJ sets at the Fosfobar and iPod wielding DJs will battle in the basement to pick the set lists to keep the party going into the morning.

Festaralho (Lapa)
Tonight the Festaralho party will take place at both Lapa’s Teatro Odisséia and at Centro’s Espaço Acústica. DJs Roberto Cruz, Felipe Malfoy, Ingrid Grundig, Gabriel Barcalla, Polly, Beta Figueiredo, and Grazzia will spin pop and funk at Espaço Acústica, while DJs Fernando Prado, Thiago Halleck, Roberto Cruz, Larissa Conforto, Renato Jukebox, Ian Gar6, Ariel Hey Hey, Mario Mamede and Wilson Power spin the best of rock at Teatro Odisséia. Personalized Festaralho cups will be give to all who enter the event and shots of tequila, margarita, Absinthe,and Absolut Big Apple will be distributed throughout the night. There will also be a special Party Bus, “the BUSARALHO”, that will transport party-goers to the second venue, for those up for attending both parties.

Things start early today at Gávea’s 00 (Zero Zero) as the chic indoor/outdoor venue hosts the Noon party beginning at 4PM. DJs Mary Zander, Vanilla Ace and Nana Torres will spin as VJ Hadron provides visuals. Then the Octopulse party will follow at 10PM.

Arraia Dance Floor (Glória)
Tonight La Passion Club in Glória will host the Arraia Dance Floor party featuring an open bar until midnight. DJs Saddan and Rodrigo Mattos will spin the best of house, hip hop, funk, and sertanejo. The open bar will feature Sex on the Beach, caipirinha, red bull and sparkling wine. Additionally, throughout the night Budweiser, Stella, Sex on the Beach, Vodka Belvedere, and tequila will be dose dupla (two for one).

Singer Ana Costa reinvigorates the sounds of old samba with the songs on her 3rd album entitled, “Today is the best place” and will play those works live tonight in Lapa at 11:30PM. But first, singer Nina Rosa will start the night off at Carioca da Gema at 9:30PM.

Mal de Raiz start things off again tonight at Rio Scenarium beginning at 8PM and group Toque de Arte will follow at 11PM. Then at 2:30AM delivering some of the best Forró Pé de Serra that can be heard anywhere in Rio, the group Forró de Ponta returns to perform for the Forró na Madrugada segment of the night.

Let’s Pop (Lapa)
Tonight in Lapa, the Let’s Pop party at the Leviano bar will include the bands, Licor do Canavial and Johnny’s Band, playing the best of pop, rock and international hits on the first floor while on the second floor the band Sagrada Família will perform songs from Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, and the Police, among others, to help the crowd keep dancing well into the night.
