The festival returns to the museum for two days, today and tomorrow, October 19th, and will feature the biggest names in street art from Rio, cities throughout Brazil and the world. Additionally, DJs will spin during both days and there will be live skateboarding.
The art includes panels by Combone, Marina Zumi, Flip Yung, and Japanese Atsuo Nakagawa. There will also be installations by Marcelo Ment, João Lelo, Bruno Big, and Meton, among others.
DJs will begin spinning on both days at noon with today’s schedule featuring Bangarang Sound System from 12PM to 2PM; and Ambassodors, DJ Abud, DJ Machintal, DJ Tamenpi, DJ PG, and Elo da Corrente following one after the other with approximately one-hour long sets.
Additionally, following the close of the festival today at MAM, there will be an Official Arte Core party at Clube Santa Luzia with DJs Gustavo MM, Pedro Piu, Tamenpi, SSP, Tucho and Rodrigo S. spinning late into the night.

Arte Core 2014 and Festa Official Arte Core (Parque do Flamengo)
Arte Core, returns to Rio’s Museum of Modern Art (MAM) located in Parque do Flamengo for its second edition today and tomorrow. The festival celebrates urban art and culture and will feature the works of Brazilian and International artists, as well as, live DJs and skateboarding demos. Centro’s Clube Santa Luzia will host an after party tonight following the festival.

Tonight the second edition of the Concorrência party will bring the best of pop, rock, hip-hop, indie, soul, funk and trap to Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz. DJs Guta, Erika Ferreira and special guest Henrique Caixeiro will spin on the first floor, while DJs Sal, Claudio Macedo and Rafael Vaz with special guest Miga_ZZ will spin on the second floor of the venue. The first fifty people to arrive will be considered VIP for the night and the first two hundred to arrive will receive personalized gifts. Additional promotions during the night will include two for one caipivodka and Sex on the Beach.

Nelson Felix starts off the night at Carioca da Gema at 9:30PM and singer Ana Costa will follow at 11:30PM. Costa is known for reinvigorating the sounds of old samba and will perform a lively repertoire, including songs from her 3rd album entitled, Today is the Best Place.

At 7:30PM, singer Roberta Espinosa will get things started at Rio Scenarium by performing specially arranged songs by pianist Rodrigo de Marsillac, along with bassist Berval Moraes and drummer Emile Saubole. Then at 11PM, the nine-member group Samba da Arruda will deliver their reintepretations of samba classics. Finally beginning at 2:30 AM, the group Sertãofulô returns to play some of the best forró you can hear any in the city tonight. The trio of musicians is known for their lively shows and their reinterpretations of the works of Luiz Gonzaga, Jackson do pandeiro, Dominguinhos, Sivuca, and João do Vale, among others.
