roge-imprensa-3Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Rogê is back at Carioca da Gema for his weekly show of samba-rock. His frequent performances in the city have earned him the respect of music lovers and critics alike in Rio. His mixture of classic Brazilian music fused with an upbeat rock variation sets him apart.

A student of music, Rogê began attending classes to understand harmony and musical perception. He then learned to play guitar, and increasingly felt driven by the sounds, rhythms and lyrics of Brazilian music. Rogê has worked and performed with some of the top names in Brazil, such as João Bosco, Bezerra da Silva, Luis Melodia, Arlindo Cruz, Marcelo Falcão Marcelo D2, Toni Garrido and Moraes Moreira to name a few. His samba sounds set the tone, but he shows influences from swing, reggae and rock.
