12th Vinyl FairSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick –The Feira de Vinil do Rio de Janeiro (The Rio de Janeiro Vinyl Fair) returns to city today for its 12th edition.

From 11:30AM – 8PM at Instituto Bennett in Flamengo the fair will once host exhibitors and vendors from across Brazil selling LPs, EPs, CDs, accessories including turntables, merchandise including t-shirts and much more.

Beginning at 11:40 AM, fourteen DJs currated by Marcello MB Groove from Vinil é Arte will spin approximately thirty-minute sets each until 8PM.

DJs taking to the decks include, American Tee Cardaci at 12:15PM, São Paulo native DJ Nuts at 4PM, and American DJ John Charalambides at 4:35PM.

Entrance to the event is one kilogram of non-perishable food.

The Babilônia Feira Hype continues today to showcase the best of new designers today at Clube Monte Líbano in Leblon.

Curta Cinema 2014
The Curta Cinema 2014 festvial continues today with free screenings of over 250 short films from 31 countries. The screenings are taking place throughout the city in venues including Estação Botafogo, Centro Cultural Justiça Federal (CCJF), Cinemaison and Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage. Duo (Gávea)
End your weekend with house and electro pop at Duo in Gávea’s 00 (Zero Zero). The party begins at 5PM and continues in the chic indoor/outdoor venue until 5AM. Things usually get started on the outdoor deck with DJs Fabiano Pax and Marcia Bertonni and then gradually shifts inside where DJs Mor Rafael Calvente and Dri Toscano usually spin. The weekly event is also known to host special guest DJs.

It’s time to dance as singer-songwriter Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. The lively up-and-coming performer will present his own compositions as well as covers of works by Jorge, Djavan, and Jorge Benjor, among others.

Roda de Samba, Soccer (Football) and Ballet 2 (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 4PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Ballet 2 playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others.
