Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s time again for the best of rap and hip hop as the ever-popular DOOM party returns to take over Copacabana’s Fosfobox tonight.
Six DJs; Akin, Bruno X, Pachu, Bertoletti, Bevilaqua and Fábio Heinz will spin rap, hip hop, trap, two step, future beats, and more, to keep the party going well into the morning.

Tonight, the Brazilian band Moinho returns to Circo Voador in Lapa to present their newest album, Aeolus. The band recorded their previous ablum entitled, Moinho Ao Vivo live at the venue in 2009. At 8:30PM, the band Samba Urbano will start the night off at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema. Then, composer and singer Toninho Geraes will follow at 11PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight, he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions. Additionally, he will reinterpret the works of Moacyr Luz, Paulinho da Viola, and Chico Buarque, among others.

Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar, the group Mano a Mano starts things off with salsa and merengue on the first floor, while on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will present some of best new forró pé de serra in Rio with Marcelo Mimoso and the Trio Pé de Serra performing tonight.
