The Rio Times WC Viewing Event June 14thThursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s time again for The Rio Times World Cup Viewing Party as the USA takes on Germany in their third and final group match of the 2014 World Cup this afternoon beginning at 1PM.

The match will be broadcast live on a large screen at the Gringo Café in Ipanema and promotions will include, R$5 bottles of beer, R$10 caipirinhas and caipivodkas and additional food specials. DJ Slim will play before and after the game.

The Rio Times World Cup Viewing Party (Ipanema)
At 1PM, come watch the USA team take on Germany in their final group match of the 2014 World Cup. The match will be broadcast live on a large screen at the Gringo Café in Ipanema. There will be R$5 bottles of beer, R$10 caipirinhas and caipivodkas and additional food promotions. DJ Slim will play before and after the game.

FIFA Fan Fest (Copacabana)
During the 2014 World Cup, Copacabana beach is home to the FIFA Fan Fest in Rio. The 31,000 m² area on the beach between the streets of Princesa Isabel and Duvivier houses a large screen to view the matches live and a stage for entertainers that, during the tournament, will include; Sorriso Maroto, Dudu Nobre, Arlindo Cruz, Anitta, Sandra de Sá, Bom Gosto, Suvaco de Cristo, Cordão da Bola Preta, Fogo e Paixão, Bloco Brasil, Empolga às Nove, Blitz. Each game day, the area between the streets of Princesa Isabel and Duvivier will open two hours before the first match of the day and close at 10PM. Capacity for the area is 20,000. Entry is free and entrance will be granted according to order of arrival.

SILENT|LOUD “The Fall of the House of Usher” with Sobre a Máquina (Leblon)
Tonight at the Midrash Centro Cultural in Leblon the SILENT|LOUD series returns with a screening of the 1928 silent film “The Fall of the House of Usher” and the band Sobre a Máquina performing live musical accompaniment.

Casa da Matriz’s weekly Veneno events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped weekends start early in Rio for over ten years. Forró and Salsa Leviano (Lapa)
Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar, the group Mano a Mano starts things off with salsa and merengue on the first floor, while on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will deliver some of best new forró pé de serra in Rio. DJ Angolano will spin samba and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró before, between and after the shows.
