Matriz Live Sessions August 19Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Live rock ‘n’ roll is back and going strong at Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz on Tuesday nights with ‘Matriz Live Sessions.’

The weekly events were originally one of the first musical programs held at Casa da Matriz, one of the oldest music venues in Rio, and now they are back to help bring some rock’n’roll to a usually somewhat inactive weeknight. The event’s popularity is growing as each Tuesday they host new up-and-coming rock acts and bands.

Tonight, the four-piece band Drenna Rock, fronted by female vocalist Drenna and the five-piece band, Banherio Azul, known for their blend of rock mixed with blues, rockabilly and psychedelic rock, will perform for this week’s Matriz Live Sessions.
