Teatro Odisséia as the Lapa venue presents the first edition of the High! Rock party.
Originating from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Far From Alaska consists of vocalist Emmily Barreto, synth player Cris Botarelli. drummer Lauro Kirsch, guitarist Rafael Brasil and bassist Eduardo Filgueira.
The band has been steadily making a name for themselves and their hard rock sounds across the country. They were recently named as part of the São Paulo Lollapalooza 2015 lineup.
Bands Nove Zero Nove, Dog’s Face and Deep Black Sea will also perform live during the party tonight.

Matriz Live Sessions with Sound Bullet and Lítio (Botafogo)
The weekly ‘Matriz Live Sessions,’ were originally one of the first musical programs held at Casa da Matriz, one of the oldest music venues in Rio. The sessions have returned now to help bring some rock’n’roll to a somewhat inactive weeknight. Tonight Sound Bullet and Lítio will perform live.

Tuesday nights are all about jazz at Lapa’s Leviano bar and the venue weekly invites special guests to perform live. Additionally, Leviano is now hosting Happy Hour from 5PM to 9PM on Monday through Thursday nights. Promotions include a bucket of three 600ml beers (Bohemia or orignal) for R$22 and dose dupla (two for one) caipirinhas for R$11.90.

But Quiz night Rio tonight at Lapa Irish Pub, it’s time again for the Portuguese/English language exchange. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for 5 minutes followed by Portuguese for 5 minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner. It’s both fun and educational and the R$10 entrance cost includes free food.
