For over five years, the event has been going strong and gaining popularity. Held at Gávea’s chic club 00 (Zero Zero) with its indoor/outdoor arrangement, the Bem Brasil Rio Hostel Party is a weekly meeting of locals, tourists and travelers. Many who attend are staying at one of Rio’s sixty hostels.
Tonight the entertainment includes a performance from the samba group Bom Batuque and DJs Bruno Lima and Ricardo Martins spinning house and latin rhythms respectively.
Make sure to show up early for the free caipirinhas from 10PM to 12AM and stay late to make new friends and dance the night away as the party continues until Wednesday morning.

Matriz Live Sessions (Botafogo)
Casa da Matriz, one of the oldest and most well known music venues in Rio, is again presenting live rock’n’roll on Tuesday nights. The shows have returned to help you discover new bands and to inject a little more partying into your week.

Blues Night at Barzin (Ipanema)
Tuesday nights are all about blues at Ipanema’s Barzin. The venue with its sophisticated atmosphere, great service and variety of drinks is the perfect place to relax and soak up the smooth and soulful sounds of the blues.

Tuesday nights in June at Carioca da Gema are all about samba and soccer. Each Tuesday the Lapa venue will pay tribute to a different team as live samba is played. Tonight, musicians Maurio Duarte, Walter Alfaiate, Vinícius de Moares, Zeca Pagodinho, and Luiz Carlos da Vila celebrate Botafogo.

Jazz de Portas Abertas is a free weekly event at Leviano bar in Lapa. For each edition they welcome new talented musicians. Tonight Os Coringas will play beginning at 9PM.

Lapa Irish Pub (Lapa)
It’s Portuguese/English language exchange night at the Lapa Irish Pub tonight. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speakers at tables. The pairs will then speak English for five minutes followed by Portuguese for five minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner. It’s both fun and educational and the R$10 entrance cost includes free food. A session of live music will follow the exchange.
