theriotimesWednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight The Rio Times will celebrate its 2015 sponsorship of the Carioca Cricket Club with a Happy Hour event at the Mekong restaurant in Leblon.

Held in partnership with the British Consulate Rio de Janeiro, entertainment during the event will be provided by DJ Mary Byker.

Promotions from 7PM to 9PM will include Bohemia longnecks for R$5, Sabai Sabai drinks (made with rum, sake, spices, lime juice, club soda and basil) for R$10, and Goi Cuon Tom (two rolls of fresh rice paper rolls filled with prawns, vegetables, glass noodles and herbs served with nuoc mam sauce) for R$12.

Lu Fogaça and Trio (Gamboa)
Tonight at Trapiche Gamboa it’s time for a roda de samba with Brazilian singer-songwriter Lu Fogaça and his trio. The group will blend modern music with samba, forró and MPB. They are well known for their reinterpretations of works by João Nogueira, João Bosco, Baden Powell, Vinicius de Moraes, Chico Buarque and Luiz Melodia, among others.
