RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - On Sunday, March 5th, in a dramatic back-and-forth battle that saw five goals in the first half alone, leading to a 3-3 draw in regulation, Fluminense outlasted arch-rival Flamengo to win the 2017 Taça Guanabara on penalty kicks, 4-2.
With the win, Fluminense takes the first stage of the 2017 Campeonato Carioca and guarantees itself a spot in the tournament semi-finals.
