RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – São Paulo exceeded the 200,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on Friday, June 19th, with a new record in 24 hours: 19,030 cases.
However, this high figure is the result of a two-day issue in the e-SUS data update, according to João Doria’s management. In total, the state records 211,658 confirmed cases of the disease.
The state recorded 386 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, bringing the total to 12,232.
During the week, the state registered a record of deaths in 24 hours, with a number very close to this Friday. The record had been 389 deaths on Wednesday.
Projections made by the government show that the state may have up to 18,000 deaths and 290,000 confirmed cases of the disease by the end of June.
The ICU bed occupancy rate in the state stands at 66.5 percent, and 70.5 percent in Greater São Paulo.
