229 People Displaced, Six Dead After Heavy Rainfall in Espírito Santo State
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – After the heavy rainfall that has affected the state’s southern region since Friday, January 17th, Espírito Santo records 229 displaced people, 182 homeless, one injured and six dead. For Monday, January 20th, the Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies issued a weather warning for lightning storms, heavy rainfall, and gale in the municipalities of Afonso Cláudio, Água Doce do Norte, Alegre, Alto Rio Novo, Baixo Guandu, Barra de São Francisco, Brejetuba, Conceição do Castelo, Divino de São Lourenço, Dores do Rio Preto, Ecoporanga, Guaçuí, Ibatiba, Ibitirama, Irupi, Iúna, Laranja da Terra, Mantenópolis, Muniz Freire, Pancas and Venda Nova do Imigrante.
