Amazon.com launches 1-day delivery in 50 cities in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Amazon announced on Wednesday, August 4, that it will offer Prime service subscribers in Brazil the option to have products delivered within one business day. The service is available in more than 50 cities, said a company executive.

The announcement comes amid fierce competition, with rivals such as Mercado Livre, Magazine Luiza, and Americanas all investing heavily to increase delivery speed and win customers.

The initiative already exists for Prime subscribers in markets in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and comes two years after Prime was launched in Brazil.
