Amazon Logistics Reaches Brazil to Compete with Federal Postal Service

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Seeking to rely less and less on other carriers while not fully replacing them, Amazon is preparing to launch a major competitor to the Correios (Brazilian Post Office), and private companies: Amazon Logistics, a network of small independent delivery companies acting on its behalf.

The strategy is similar to that of Mercado Libre, which has reduced its dependence on the state-owned postal service company from 90% to 20% in three years.
