Armed Forces ready to vaccinate Brazilians, says Bolsonaro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – President Jair Bolsonaro said on March 3 that the Armed Forces can and should help administer Covid-19 vaccines to the population.

“The Armed Forces are at our disposal to also begin to vaccinate, collaborate to vaccinate. Practically all barracks in Brazil are equipped for this,” said Bolsonaro alongside new Defense Minister Walter Braga Netto, with whom he visited a charity association.

While eating a soup offered to people in need, Bolsonaro said that the government has been fighting Covid-19 with vaccination but that “everything has a limit.” He again stated that he disagrees with the “close everything” policy in fighting the pandemic.

“The war we are fighting is not political; it is a war that in truth has to do with the future of the nation. We must not forget to save jobs,” the president added.
