Bolsonaro Urges Population to Invade Brazilian Hospitals and Film Bed Supply

On Thursday, June 11th, President Jair Bolsonaro called on his followers on social media to film inside public and field hospitals to determine whether emergency beds are free or occupied.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - On a live broadcast on social media, the President said that should the footage prove any abnormality, it should be forwarded to the Federal Government, which will then report it to the Federal Police or to the ABIN (Brazilian Intelligence Agency) for investigation.

Unauthorized access to healthcare facilities is prohibited. The action, in addition to constraining patients, places the visitor at risk of contamination, particularly amid the coronavirus pandemic. Health authorities have recommended that people avoid hospital facilities in order to prevent contagion.
