Brazil Received 18.3 Million Requests for Emergency Aid on First Day

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Caixa Econômica Federal (Federal Savings Bank) reported that by Wednesday, April 8th, at 9 PM, 18.3 million Brazilians had completed their registration to collect the R$600 (US$150) emergency aid granted by the government to casual and unemployed workers as a measure against the economic impact of the coronavirus.
