Brazil Records 136 Deaths and 4,256 Confirmed Coronavirus Cases (March 29th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Sunday, March 29th, the Ministry of Health published the most recent balance of Covid-19 cases, a disease caused by the Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus. The main figures are:

136 deaths
4,256 confirmed cases
3.2 percent is the mortality rate

The state of São Paulo accounts for 1,451 cases and Rio de Janeiro for 600.

The report added 22 to the previous day’s 114 deaths. This represents an increase of 19 percent in the number of deaths.

The number of confirmed cases increased by 352 on Sunday. Through the previous day, there were 3,094 confirmed cases, an increase of nine percent.

The mortality rate rose from 2.8 percent on Saturday to 3.2 percent on Sunday.

Among the 136 deaths, 98 occurred in the state of São Paulo, an increase of 14 deaths in the state.

All numbers include only people who tested positive; Brazil does not publish statistics for suspected cases.
