RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Brazil rose from 12,056 to 13,717, according to official data released on Tuesday, April 7th. There were 1,661 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. The deaths caused by the novel coronavirus have reached 667. By Monday, 553 lives had been lost.
There are infected people in all Brazilian states.
Only the state of Tocantins has not recorded any deaths from Covid-19 so far. Based on the comparison between infections and deaths, the virus mortality rate is 4.9 percent.
