Brazilian government creates embassy in Manama, capital of Bahrain

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Brazilian diplomatic representation will be based in Manama, the capital of the Arab country. Up to now, Bahrain was represented by the Brazilian Embassy in Kuwait.

Bahrain has had an embassy in Brazil, based in Brasilia, since 2018. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1974.

According to the federal government, the opening of a diplomatic mission in Manama will contribute to the promotion of economic-trade cooperation between the two countries. The bilateral trade flow is the 6th largest between Brazil and a Middle Eastern Arab country.
