Brazilian Government Records Decrease in Fire Outbreaks in the Amazon

In the survey carried out between August 26th and 27th, the hotspots map showed a reduction, particularly in Rondônia, where fire-fighting personnel was reinforced: Over 3,910 people are working in the Legal Amazon, including military and brigade personnel, in addition to 205 vehicles.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Operation Verde Brasil (Green Brazil), which gathered several agencies to fight fires in the Legal Amazon area, has recorded a decrease in the number of fires in recent days. Although there is still no confirmation of this trend for the coming days, the government's assessment so far is positive.
