Dollar drops against Brazilian real with Fed chair Powell on the radar (July 14)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The dollar was trading down against the real shortly after Wednesday's opening, ahead of Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell's testimony to the U.S. Congress, with markets looking for clues to future of U.S. monetary policy.

At 9:08 am, the dollar retreated 0.72% to 5.1452 reais on sale, while dollar futures were down 0.39% at 5.1545 reais.

The dollar traded on the interbank market closed Tuesday up 0.17%, at 5.1824 reais on sale.
