Brazil’s B3 stock exchange records 14.6% drop in traded volume in April, but number of investors grows

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazilian B3 Stock Exchange, recorded a 14.6% drop in the average daily trading volume in April, compared to March. In the sum of the spot market, forward, options, and futures, an average of R$32.3 (US$6) billion was traded per day, compared with R$38.1 billion last month. Compared to April 2020, however, the result is favorable, up 13.2%.

Compared to March, the spot market, which accounts for the largest trading volume, dropped 14.4%, from R$36.8 billion to R$31.5 billion.
