RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - President Jair Bolsonaro will be transferred to São Paulo and may undergo emergency surgery, the Special Secretariat of Social Communication (Secom) said on Wednesday.
The president was examined by his private doctor, Antonio Luiz Macedo, at the Armed Forces Hospital (HFA), where he has been hospitalized since early morning. He has been suffering from hiccups for more than ten days and felt severe abdominal pains early this morning.
Macedo, who operated on the president after the knife attack he suffered during the 2018 election campaign, traveled to Brasilia to assess Bolsonaro's health condition.
