Brazil’s Financial Market Raises Inflation Estimate This Year to 3.29 Percent

The forecasts are included in the Focus bulletin, published on Mondays by the Central Bank, using projections for the main economic indicators from financial institutions.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - After eleven weeks of decline, the financial institutions surveyed by the Central Bank (BC) have raised their estimate for inflation this year.

The projection for the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA - a national inflation index) climbed from 3.26 to 3.29 percent.

For 2020, the inflation estimate dropped from 3.66 to 3.60 percent, in the fifth consecutive reduction. The forecast for the following years . . .
