Brazil’s Unemployment Rate Stands at 11.8 Percent in Quarter Ended September

Over the same period in 2018, the unemployment rate measured by the PNAD was 11.9 percent.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The unemployment rate in Brazil stood at 11.8 percent in the quarter ended in September, according to data from the National Continuous Household Sample Survey (PNAD Continuous) released on Thursday, October 31st, by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

The result exceeded the analysts' forecast median of 11.6 percent of the Broadcast Projections. The range of estimates went from 11.5 to 11.9 . . .
