RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The EcoRodovias Company won yesterday, September 27th, the bid for the BR-364/365 highway concession held at B3 (former Bovespa) stock exchange. The company offered a toll rate of R$4.69 (US$1.17), which meant a bid 33.1 percent lower than the maximum amount stipulated by the federal government of R$7.02.
In this type of dispute, the winner is the one who offers the lowest toll rate under the ceiling set from the competition. The consortium Silva e Bertoli offered a rate of R$5.75, 18 percent lower than the maximum rate, and the Way Consortium of R$5.82, a discount of 17 percent.

Investments
The road connects the municipality of Jataí in Goiás State to the city of Uberlândia in Minas Gerais State, in a total of 437 kilometers. The concession is valid for 30 years with investments of R$2.06 billion over this period. The concessionaire should also have to pay R$2.53 billion in operational costs.
Among the planned improvements is the doubling of the lanes of further 44.2 kilometers of the highway. Currently, only 80 kilometers have dual lanes. In addition, 87.8 kilometers of shoulder should be implemented, as well as a third lane on 143.3 kilometers and two overpasses.
