USA Sells 71,000 Tons of Rice to Brazil, Highest Volume Since 2003

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The US government reported on Thursday, October 1st, the sale of over 71,100 tons of rice to Brazil, according to data from the USDA (US Department of Agriculture), at a time when Brazilians are resorting to atypical product sourcing to tackle record prices for the product.

With Thursday's record, the total amount recorded by the USDA of American rice sold to Brazil reaches 108,300 tons this year.

The total volume is now the largest USDA rice sale to Brazil in a year since 2003, when Brazilians imported a total of 486,4500 tons . . .
