Councilman and daughter of Paraguay state governor executed on Brazil border

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Five people were executed in less than 24 hours in the border region between Brazil and Paraguay.

Among the victims are Farid Charbell Badaoui Afif, 37, an Councilman from Ponta Porã, a city in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul neighboring Paraguay's Pedro Juan Caballero; and Haylee Carolina Acevedo Yunis, 21, daughter of Ronald Acevedo, governor of the state of Amabai in Paraguay.

The Brazilian and Paraguayan police are investigating the murders and whether they are related.
