Cristina Junqueira is the new CEO of Nubank in Brazil

Cristina Junqueira, Nubank cofounder, is the digital bank's new CEO in Brazil. She will replace David Vélez Osorno, also a co-founder, who will take over the global leadership of the institution.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The replacement had not been officially announced by the company, but the change in command is included in the company's annual report for 2020.

"On February 19th, 2021, in an Extraordinary General Meeting, the company acknowledged the resignation of its CEO, Mr. David Vélez Osorno, according to the letter presented, and Mrs. Cristina Helena Zingaretti Junqueira took over as CEO with immediate effect from this date," according to the document.

Nubank said that it has reorganized its structure in Brazil and that it is a logical step to organize governance and support the group . . .
