RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Eduardo Saverin, a co-founder of Facebook, reached the position of wealthiest Brazilian billionaire, surpassing Jorge Paulo Lemann, on Monday (5). According to Forbes magazine's ranking, Saverin, 39, has a fortune of US$19.5 billion, against Lemann's US$19.2 billion.
The Facebook co-founder's fortune comes, in large part, from his shareholding in big tech. Saverin founded the social network in 2004 with Harvard University classmates, including Mark Zuckerberg - now CEO of the company that encompasses Instagram and WhatsApp.
