RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Sambista Elton Medeiros, known for the composition of 'O Sol Nascerá' in partnership with Cartola, died at the age of 89 in Rio de Janeiro. He was hospitalized at the Pinheiro Machado Health Center in the southern part of the city. At the family's request, the hospital gave no information about the artist's death.
